"As the Head of the Family should teach their household"

We believe that disciples are best formed in the home, through catechesis from the parents who not only teach but model the life of a Christian for their children. Certainly the church plays a role, but that role should be walking alongside the parents, "to equip the saints."
We offer confirmation classes every Wednesday from 5:45-6:45 pm for 6th-8th grade students. It is our desire that these classes build upon a firm foundation that was created in their baptism and strengthened through years of in-home discipleship, worship with their brothers & sisters in Christ and Sunday School classes. We ask the parents to go over the memory work with their children and continue to teach them as we dive deeper and give a fuller understanding of each chief part of the Catechism (The Ten Commandments, The Creed, The Lord's Prayer, The Sacrament of Holy Baptism, Confession, The Sacrament of the Altar).
Upon completion of the 8th grade confirmation class, we will examine the students on the 6 chief parts of Luther's Catechism. Upon their confirmation, they will be welcomed to join with the rest of the church in confessing their unity in the faith and receiving the true body and blood of Christ. It is our hope that this is simply the continuation of their life in Christ in the Church and that they continue joining us in worship and Bible study that they may be built up and "equipped for every good work."
